Hi sweet friends,
It’s finally fall y’all!!! So it’s now totally acceptable to drink all the pumpkin spice, go to the pumpkin patch, burn all the “Leaves” candles, buy all the mums and so on without getting dirty looks!!! It is such a fun season! I think for us in Texas it’s so much more joyful because we know at any moment we are getting a cool front. Tricked ya, we are still in the hight 90s and will be there for a while. At least I can honestly say that the early mornings and the evenings are getting better and enjoyable.
Talking about all things fall and especially home decor. I don’t do much where fall decorating is concerned. Truth be told the first couple of years we had the house I went all out with scarecrow pilgrims and pumpkins. Funny enough we seemed to have storm after storm with strong winds during this time of the year. I would always spend every morning trying to find all my decoration that flew down the street.
Queue in the year when I had Mason and started to rethink the fall decoration lol. I usually set up a fall wreath, a fall doormat and I’m done. Call me efficient or lazy. It works for me. I tried to buy mums but they would die after a week of getting burned by our heat. Pumpkins would rot if they are put out too early on our front porch. Texas heat is no joke! Honestly fake decor here is the way to go. Wooden pumpkins and fake mums will last you a long time and you won’t have to do much clean up after that. We all know who does the clean up!!! Mommies lol
As for the inside of the house, I put a little bit of decoration out. Not too much as I don’t like clutter and I also try to save my energy for Christmas decorating lol. I usually set up my buffet with a couple of Disney Halloween collectibles (Hey you knew at some point I was going to mention Disney). Then I add a fall candle on my island. Bring on all the fall mugs and pumpkin spice K-cups and we are good to go. As I said, I love Fall and Halloween, I love to decorate but I love to keep things simple and not too overwhelming.
Also the weekend before Halloween is when I bring all the decoration down from the attic and set up for Mason to enjoy. I have a pumpkin patch of fake lighting pumpkins and I absolutely love it! Mason loves helping setting up everything.
If you are like me and love decorating, I have rounded up some of the cutest fall decor I have found.
